You do not need expensive ingredients to cook cake pops. All of them can be bought in every grocery store.
Dark of milk chocolate (you can also use some white chocolate for decorating your cake pops)
A cake or a cake mix3, if you are going to bake the cake)
Lollipop sticks (or something of the kind)
Steps of Cooking
Bake or buy a cake. It can be of any type you like. If you bake the cake, allow it to cool.
Put the cake into a bowl and break it into tiny crumbs. You can do it with your hands or use a mixer. Make sure that you have not left big pieces before you move to the next stage.
Mix frosting with the crumbs in the bowl. Do it thoroughly in order to get a doughy substance without big bits.
Form little balls with a scooper.
Finish them with your hands. Each one should be even like a little ball. Then put them into the freezer for several minutes.
Melt chocolate. Use a double boiler for it. You can add up some Crisco in order to smooth it.
Drive a lollipop stick into each cake ball. Insert it about halfway.
Then remove a ball from its stick, plunge it into the chocolate and put the stick back into the same hole.
Now add frosting, topping, or sprinkles and let your cook cakes cool down. Later you can dip them into melted chocolate once more. It is necessary to make sure they are properly covered.
You can also decorate your cake pops with melted white chocolate. Pour it into a plastic bag and cut a small hole in one of its corners. Then you can draw different images or write somebody's name. In general, there are very many ways of decorating cake pops, like different kinds of frosting, culinary paint, etc. It depends on your creativity.
Now put the cake pops into the refrigerator if you want them to be firm and fresh for some time.
